Summer Mission Weeks in Southampton

There are several mission weeks going on around Southampton at the moment. During this nationwide year of HOPE, it is fantastic to see churches and groups across Southampton working together to share the good news in word and action. More stories to follow once the weeks are completed, but for now, here is some basic information to encourage you and and to inspire your prayers...

Eastleigh Week of HOPE (28th July-1st August)
The team at New Community Eastleigh are seeking to bring ‘Hope’ to the residents of the Nightingale Estate during a week of planned events. These include Kidz Club, dance workshops, parent & toddler sessions and activities utilising the new bus that has been bought. Sessions are available for families and kids to come along to in the morning, afternoon and evening. More details can be found on the New Community Eastleigh website.

Dip Week on the Flower Estate (28th July-1st August)
The Flower of Justice team (together with a team from OM) are providing a wide range of fun activities for the community on the Flower Estate from Monday 28th July-Friday 1st August. During the morning there will be lots of organised activities for children and young people with bouncy castles, face painting, crafts, sport sessions and more. in the afternoon, each day will culminate in a big BBQ for everyone to attend. There is a cafe, a prayer tent and ministry will be available throughout the day. On Saturday 2nd August, baptisms will be taking place in the river.

Red Bus Week at Mansbridge (28th July-1st August)
The Red Bus Team are out and about as well this week with a team from OM providing sports activities each morning in Mansbridge. in the evening they will be putting on further fun activities from Monday to Thursday, finishing off the week on Friday with a community BBQ, 6.30-8.30pm. 


'The Big Event' Week in Northam (28th July-1st August)
The team at Southampton Christian Fellowship are putting on a jam-packed week of fun activities for all the family in Northam. Events include a holiday club, toddler groups, the big red bus, International Cafe and Dancing, Pizza in the Park, an over 50s Cream Tea and a free breakfast club! The week will culminate with an open air service and barbecue  in the car park of the Augustine Centre.

Splash Week in Sholing (28th July-1st August)
Paul Woodman (City Life Church) is leading this mission week in Sholing based at St Monica Junior School. There is a kids club in the mornings follwed by lots of different family and community events in the afternoons.

All of the above activities would really appreciate your support in prayer, for each member of the teams involved, for the people they are serving, for practical arrangements and for God's love to touch and transform lives.
