Julian meeting

Second Thursday of the month (except January)
7:45 pm
The Ascension Centre, Bitterne Park

Have you ever wanted to simply spend time in silence, just receiving from God, but have found it hard to get started or to find the time?

Julian Meetings (named after Julian of Norwich, a woman of prayer who lived in the 14th Century) offer Christians of all persuasions and non-Christians everywhere a regular opportunity to wait on God in silence and stillness for about half an hour every month. Already we have had over 45 people attending our meetings from a wide variety of backgrounds – from the Church of England, City Life, New Community, Thornhill Baptist, St Edmunds Roman Catholic Church and from those who don’t belong to any denomination. If the idea of simply wasting time with God and relaxing in his love in an ecumenical environment appeals to you, then this could be the meeting for you!

The meetings will last for about an hour and take place on the second Thursday of each month at 7.45pm. They will be very informal and relaxed in tone and are open to everyone, whatever their church background and level of experience. Do feel free to drop in on a trial basis and see if this is the sort of thing that will be of help to you.

The meetings are taking place at the Ascension Centre, Thorold Road, Bitterne Park, SO18 1HZ.
