Mission Shaped Intro Course : 4 Wednesdays in March : Highfield Church : 7.30-9.30pm
Exploring the ‘why’ of creating fresh expressions of church rather than the ‘how’, this four week course takes us on a journey looking at the ever-changing nature of our social communities and why the church needs to rethink its approach to those communities in meaningful and relevant ways. £15 for the whole course, 7.30-9.30pm at Highfield Church on 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th March (Wednesday evenings). The Marriage Course : Thurs eves starting 4th March : Riverside Family Church : 7.15pm
A seven week course offering married couples tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Over a number of evenings, couples talk about important issues over a candlelit dinner. Privacy as a couple is always respected. There is no group discussion and no requirement to disclose anything about your relationship to anyone else. Cost is £90, which includes a candlelit supper each week and all materials. Freemantle Prayer : Monday 15th March : Testwood Road
A few Christians who live in Freemantle have been getting together and praying for the area and for their witness in it. At the moment, 12 people are meeting to pray from 6 different churches. The next few dates for meeting are 1st February, 15th February, 1st March and 15th March, 5.30-6pm at 3 Testwood Road. Rob Bell : Drops Like Stars Tour : Thursday 18th March : Central Hall : 7pm
Gifted author and communicator Rob Bell will be speaking at Central Hall, Southampton on March 18th as part of his 'Drops Like Stars' tour: a two hour exploration of the endlessly complex relationship between suffering and creativity. CiS Resource Showcase and AGM : Thurs 18th March : Highfield Church Centre : 7.30pm
Christians in Science invite you to their cheese and wine resource showcase and (brief) AGM on Thursday 18th March, from 7.30pm at Highfield Church Centre. Professor Keith Fox will be showcasing a resource from the Faraday Institute called 'Test of Faith' - this is an invaluable resource for accessible information on the current state of the Science and Religion debates and is a powerful tool for outreach and education. Movement In Worship: Sat 20th March: James Street Church: 9.30 - 12.00
A non-threatening meditation experience especially for those who would like to develop their skills using flags and ribbons in worship. The morning provides the opportunity to understand God's purpose in asking us to forgive others, through the use of banners, music, movement and drawing. Helping Others Find Freedom in Christ : Sat 27th March : King's Community Church
This one-day event will give you confidence to lead others through The Steps To Freedom In Christ. You will find it helpful whether you are planning to lead personal freedom appointments or a “Steps Away Day” as part of the Freedom In Christ Discipleship Course. Come and Sing Fauré's Requiem : Saturday 27th March : Highfield Church

Narrow Road : Riding Lights Production : Friday 2nd April : Highfield Church : 7pm
On Good Friday (2nd April) Riding Lights Theatre Company will be at Highfield Church in Southampton performing The Narrow Road - a moving combination of powerful theatre, meditation and corporate worship. Meeting the characters and re-living the events of the gospels, this passion story takes its audience back along that original road, through the place of the cross and into the challenge of a life beyond. Compellingly performed, The Narrow Road asks each of us to review the understanding and practice of our own faith in relation to that journey today. Be Still Day: Saturday 17th April: St Thoma's Cathedral, Portsmouth: 10 am - 4 pm
A chance to engage with God and find peace and refreshment in stillness and contemplation - all in the beautiful surroundings of St Thomas' Anglican Cathedral in Portsmouth. Choose from a wide variety of prayerful activities including a Taize service with the New Community Choir, stills and music with Hitch and Kat Thompson and a poetry recital by Robin Drummond. Or simply find a place to 'be' by yourself and listen to God. Donations appreciated £10 whole day, £5 half day. |
Anointed : A Women's Conference : 23rd-24th April : Central Baptist Church
Hosted by Bridge Christian Fellowship, Anointed is a conference especially for women; it is for extravagant lovers of Jesus and for those who wish to rediscover their identity as daughters of the King. Global Day of Prayer Citywide Evening Service : Sun 23rd May : Central Hall : 7pm
Once again we will be hosting a citywide evening prayer celebration on Pentecost Sunday, which is also the Global Day of Prayer. This has been a very encouraging event over the last few years. Join with other churches and Christians across the region to worship God together and pray for our city, nation and world. |
Big Church Day Out 2010 : 30th & 31st May : Wiston House : West Sussex
Big Church Day Out is back, and has added an extra date on Bank Holiday Monday as well. Each day the lineup includes Hillsong United, Switchfoot, Toby Mac, Israel Houghton, Tim Hughes, Brenton Brown, Graham Kendrick, Lou Fellingham, LZ7 and the Kings Chamber Orchestra. It promises to be an incredible event as people of all ages and church backgrounds gather together again to celebrate the faith that's bigger than all of us. Discovering the Father Heart of God : Conference with Mark Stibbe : 4th-5th June
Southampton Christian Network are hosting a conference with Mark Stibbe at Central Hall on Friday and Saturday 4th-5th of June 2010 focussing on the Father Heart of God. We believe that in order for the city of Southampton to have a revelation of the father heart of God, we need to receive it first in the church. This is a conference for the whole citywide church, so we recommend booking early to guarantee a place. The cost for the whole conference is £15 (£10 concessions). Global Awakening School of Healing and Impartation II : 16th-19th June : Central Hall
Following the impact of last year's School of Healing and Impartation, Global Awakening are running a follow up School in Southampton on 16th-19th June at Central Hall, focussing on Healing, Deliverance and Disbelief.
