Living Recovery Course Programme 
Are you struggling with addiction, going round the same destructive paths in life, want to change your habit/addiction so you can do all the things you once wanted to do in life?
This is a flexible on-going Christian course equipping people to break the cycle of destructive patterns in life caused by addiction, social phobias or through mental health or relationship problems etc. Topics covered include: hurts, shame, toxic thinking right through to walking in God’s authority. A journey to freedom. This will be an evening course.

JAZZ CONCERT / SUNDAY 16 JULY / 2.30PM / CENTRAL BAPTIST CHURCH 
On July 16 Central Baptist Church are holding a jazz concert in aid of Creative Options Community Mental Health Project.  The afternoon will be suitable to secular as well as Christian audiences and for all ages.  The jazz will be with professional musicians and a well known and well loved musician Chris Walker who is heading up this event.  Previous events like this have been very popular.  It is a good opportunity for people to come and have a relaxing social and uplifting afternoon and raise funds for a worthy charity.  The tickets are £8 including a cuppa and £10 including a cream tea.  Anyone bringing people who are vulnerable and disabled may apply to us for a free ticket in order to support people who might otherwise not be able to come.  Please promote where you can.  The seating limit is 100 places, so get your ticket quick!

A MORE CHRIST-LIKE GOD / FRIDAY 1 AND SATURDAY 2 SEPTEMBER / CENTRAL HALL
Central Hall are hosting a two-part seminar with Canadian theologian Brad Jerzak  based on his recent book, "A More Christ-like God" on Friday 1 (evening) and Saturday 2 September (morning) 2017. The seminar will expose some toxic images of God, even within Christianity, and how these distort our gospel.
We will explore the Incarnation of Christ and especially the Cross as the clearest image of God as love. It promises to be an excellent two-part theology seminar.

REFORMATION 500 CONFERENCE / FRIDAY 29 - SATURDAY 30 SEPTEMBER / KING'S COMMUNITY CHURCH, SOUTHAMPTON
KCC are holding the Reformation 500 Conference on 29th – 30th September 2017. The conference will start at 10am on the Friday and finish at 4pm on the Saturday. Terry Virgo has agreed to give some Bible readings over the two days in which he will unpack parts of one of Luther’s favourite books, Paul’s letter to the Galatians. Other speakers will include Andrew Wilson, Joel Virgo, Glen Scrivener, Mike Reeves and Andy Johnston. Those who have been invited to speak are not simply gifted preachers and communicators of the Gospel but they all have a particular interest in Luther, the Reformation and historical theology.
The price of the conference is £30 (£35 if bookings are made after 31st June 2017)and includes tea, coffee and biscuits but not lunches or overnight accommodation.

BABY BANK 
The new Baby Equipment Bank at “Oasis of Life Church” is now taking donations of baby equipment ahead of opening for business in July 2017.
It will work on the same basis as the SCM Basics Bank – taking in equipment as donations, cleaning, storing and giving away for free to those in need.
The Baby Equipment Bank will be happy to accept the following items:

FORMATION SCHOOL - LEADERSHIP TRAINING SCHOOL HOSTED BY ABOVE BAR CHURCH
Do you long to see people better equipped to help others grow as Christians? Do you want key leaders to learn how to lead well in today's context? Would you love your small groups to be more effective in reaching people who are not yet Christians? Formation School is here to help by equipping people for making disciples, leadership and mission. 
Formation School is a weekly course run by Living Leadership and Above Bar Church and a team of other local church leaders, with the aim of 'Growing leaders who make disciples' in the local church. We have had students from a wide range of local churches over the last 5 years, and are now taking applications for the 2017-8 course which will begin in September, meeting on Tuesday evenings and 6 Saturdays throughout the academic year. If you would like to find out more, a member of the team would be very willing to visit your church to talk further about the course, or even come along to one of your groups e.g. 20-30s group.

SAILORS' SOCIETY
FREE Sea Sunday resources for churches are now available from www.seasundayhero.org including activities for children & young people and a sermon preached by Hugh Osgood, Moderator of the Free church and founder of CiC International. Sea Sunday is an opportunity for your church community to pray for seafarers and to highlight Sailors’ Society ministry amongst this often forgotten people group. The website allows you to download resources instantly or to request a pack in the post.  Sea Sunday is marked annually on the second Sunday of July (this year it’s the 9th July) but Sea Sunday services can be held anytime of the year! The pack gives resources for a simple slot in your service or the whole service. BEYOND SUPPORT - ADMIN AND SUPPORT VOLUNTEER
Due to increasing demand we are recruiting a female volunteer worker, ideally with a commitment of at least one year.
Who are we? Beyond the Streets (www.beyondthestreets.org.uk) is a small charity based in Southampton with a big determination to see routes out for women facing sexual exploitation in the UK.  We have been working with women for 20 years and we have a Christian ethos.
One of our projects - Beyond Support (www.beyondsupport.org.uk) is a unique service, launched in 2014 to provide women across the UK free and confidential phone call back and email support for women on their long-term journey out of the sex industry. See the Role Description (below) for more information; training and support will be given.
Duration: 1 day per week – ideally Mon or Tue 9.30 – 4pm, Based in Southampton

PORT CHAPLAIN AND CENTRE MANAGER SOUTHAMPTON SEAFARER CENTRE
As Port Chaplain and Centre Manager you will represent the Sailors’ Society. You will provide in the port of Southampton and the surrounding area a Christian ministry, welfare support, counselling and general assistance to all seafarers irrespective of race, colour or creed. “Seafarers” shall include serving, retired and intending, their families and dependants. You will focus on customer satisfaction whilst inspiring and developing your team to be the best they can be. You will provide port chaplaincy in the port of Southampton, take overall responsibility for the running of the centre and wellness activities, manage volunteers and ensure that every visitor to the centre receives a great experience. COFFEE LOUNGE - VOLUNTEERS
Sailors’ Society are opening a new coffee lounge in Portswood Road and are looking for new customer service volunteers. Responsibilities include making sure the shop is clean and tidy, serving customers, date rotation and helping deliver high quality standards of customer service.  Volunteers will be enthusiastic, flexible, willing to learn and committed. PART TIME CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WORKER - NEW COMMUNITY SHOLING
The role will be to assist with the running of New Community Sholing’s existing children’s programme and the volunteers, whilst seeking to develop connections within our local community – for example schools, pre-schools, community groups and local families.
We are passionate about seeing children and young people meet with God and are looking for someone who can bring creativity, passion and organisation to the role. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the key stages in children’s development. We aspire to lay a strong, age appropriate Biblical foundation for our children, whilst communicating the Christian faith in a way that is fun and full of life. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, with the ability to communicate effectively with both adults and children in a variety of environments.
The successful candidate will need to be a part of New Community Sholing. This is a part time position of one to two days a week initially, starting asap with a probation period of three months. Appointment is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS Child Workforce check.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY ASSISTANT - ABOVE BAR CHURCH
Are you passionate about children’s ministry? Are you experienced in working with children and eager to develop your skills? Are you a servant-hearted, creative, and flexible team player who is able to work alongside others in leading children’s ministry? Would you like to combine training within a large city-centre evangelical church with studying for a post-graduate degree in children’s ministry?
If so, we would love to support you in loving God, following Jesus, and sharing hope within the context of children’s ministry. Above Bar Church is looking for a Children’s Ministry Trainee to start in September 2017. This is a two or three-year position, which comprises of approx.
21 hrs/wk serving in the church and 14 hrs/wk studying (typically) an MA in Children’s and Family work. Bursaries, hosting, and funding to cover fees are available if needed and will be
discussed with the successful applicant.
